Our Hostages Are Starving, But Refeeding Them Too Quickly Might Kill Them

UW alum Alexa Halling (UW ‘10), a registered dietitian, published an important piece in The Times of Israel. She writes about how the freed Israeli hostages may now be at risk for Refeeding Syndrome, a deathly condition first identified in Holocaust survivors, as well as other severe consequences of their prolonged starvation.
